Osteopathy was born in 1874 when frontier doctor Andrew Taylor Still looked at the body differently. Instead of chasing symptoms, he asked:

Still lived among the Shawnee Nation in Kansas, learned their language, and absorbed Indigenous healing traditions that saw the person as body, mind, and spirit woven together. That’s why osteopathy never treats “just a bad back” — it restores the whole human being.
OSTEOPATHY AND CHIROPRACTIC: THE SAME ROOT
Did you know? Chiropractic actually came out of osteopathy. Daniel David Palmer, the founder of chiropractic, studied with Still’s early students.
